RSSFeedCenter.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what your choices are.
RSSFeedCenter.com ("RSS Feed Center," "we," "us") is operated by RSSFeedCenter.com, AZ, USA. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what your choices are. Questions or requests: use our contact page at rssfeedcenter.com/contact.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Account information. Email address, name (optional), and password. [Accounts are not live yet — this applies once membership launches.]
- Email deliverable requests. When you request a file by email (for example, a city OPML file), we collect your email address and the context of the request (which city or topic), which we use to send the file and, with your consent, related product emails.
- Submissions. When you submit a website or feed for listing, we collect the URL and any details you provide, along with your email address.
- Contact form. Anything you send through our contact page — your name, email address, chosen topic, an optional feed URL, and your message. These messages are delivered to us by Formspree (see §4).
- Purchase information. When paid membership launches, orders and subscriptions will be processed by a third-party payment provider [PAYMENT PROVIDER — TO BE SELECTED]. We will receive order confirmations, plan details, and a payment reference — we never receive or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data. Pages viewed, features used (queries run, exports, alerts), referring pages, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type.
- Server logs. IP address, request time, user agent, and requested URL, kept for security and rate-limiting.
- Cookies. We use analytics cookies set by Google Analytics to understand how the directory is used, and — once sign-in launches — essential cookies to keep you logged in. Essential cookies cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in; analytics cookies are optional and, where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before setting them. You can also block cookies in your browser at any time.
Information about publishers and websites (public sources)
RSS Feed Center is a directory. We collect publicly available information about websites, publications, and their feeds — including feed URLs, publication names, descriptions, posting activity, and, where published openly on a website, business contact details such as editorial or advertising email addresses. We collect this under our legitimate interest in operating a public directory. If you represent a listed website and want your information corrected, suppressed, or removed, use the contact page; suppression requests are honored permanently.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide the service: accounts, queries, exports, merged feeds, alerts, and purchases
- Send transactional email: file deliveries, alert digests, receipts, submission status
- Send product and marketing email only with consent, always with one-click unsubscribe
- Maintain and improve the directory, including feed health monitoring
- Prevent abuse: rate limiting, scraping detection, fraud prevention
- Comply with law
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising.
3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK visitors)
Contract performance (accounts, purchases, deliverables); legitimate interests (directory operation, security, service email); consent (marketing email, non-essential cookies); legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
4. Service Providers
We share information only with providers who process it for us:
- Formspree — receives and delivers messages sent through our contact form, including the name, email address, topic, optional feed URL, and message you submit
- Google Analytics — usage analytics. It sets cookies and receives your IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you view, so we can see which cities and features people actually use.
- Google Search Console — reports how our pages perform in Google Search. It draws on data Google already collects from Search and adds no tracking of its own to this site.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces on this site are served from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser information each time a page loads
- Cloudflare.com & Digital Ocean — infrastructure and databases
We do not use an email marketing platform, a payment processor, or third-party advertising. We do not use Google for sign-in, and we do not allow Google Analytics data to be used for advertising personalization. When paid membership and accounts launch, we will name those providers here before the service goes live.
Each provider is bound by its own privacy terms and our agreements with them. We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a business transfer (with notice).
5. Retention
- Account data: while your account exists, then deleted or anonymized within 90 days of deletion
- Email/marketing data: until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Server logs: 90 days
- Purchase records: as required by tax law
- Directory data about websites and feeds (including feed health history): retained indefinitely as part of the directory's dataset; personal contact details within it are removed or suppressed on request
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, object to or restrict processing, and opt out of marketing. We honor these requests whether or not the law of your region strictly requires it. Submit requests through the contact page; we will verify your identity and respond within 30 days. California residents: we do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CPRA, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals for the data we hold. You will not be discriminated against for exercising any right.
7. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords, role-restricted access to production data, and separation between our public site and administrative systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Transfers
We operate from the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your information is processed in the US.
10. Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders or by site notice before they take effect.
11. Contact
All privacy questions, requests, and publisher suppression or removal requests go through our contact form. We do not publish a support email address — the form reaches us directly, and it lets us verify and track each request.
